What is This About?

This is the most basic step for anyone to onboard their AI journey with Google - linking up Google tools such as Gmail, Drive, Docs, Calendar, Docs, Keep, Tasks to Gemini chat application so that we can interact with these apps using natural language to improve productivity and streamline workflows. The following specific actions can be performed directly from Gemini chat interface:

• Summarize, get quick answers, and find information from apps and services like Gmail, Docs, and Drive

• Add and retrieve your tasks from Google Tasks

• Create and retrieve notes and lists from Google Keep

• Create & manage your events in Google Calendar

On top of that, Gems can be used to create micro AI experts (i.e. bots) that can be instructed to perform repeatable basic tasks / prompts with Gemini. In simple words, if there is a particular prompt that you use routinely with Gemini chat application, you can create a specific Gems for it, provide additional references and also link up the above Google Apps as part of the prompt instructions to perform specific workflows.
