Few words from me...

The advancements in AI consumer tech in the last couple of years has been truly amazing. In principle, if they can live up to their promise of making our lives easier with autonomous AI Agents, we are looking at exciting times ahead. 

We are all well past the initial excitement of the "ChatGPT moment" that occurred in November 2022. I have been personally trying out many solutions since then, specifically related to Google (since I am using Workspace). It was a mixed bag in terms how I felt about these AI models and solutions initially. I mean chatting with generative AI models are great for personal use, but they added little value in terms of getting actual stuff done. Yes, there are many solutions out there in the market, but personally I felt that getting many different third party solutions was just too messy to manage. I wanted something that can natively integrate with my existing stack (Google) and build simple yet effective solutions as needed, and build upon that. 

But this year (2025) is when I started to re-look at them seriously, since my experience with the latest Google Gemini models are extremely positive, especially related to generating codes. So this opens up new potential for workflow automation using codes via Apps Script, Google Cloud Functions, etc. This was way out of my league before, since my background is not IT. I am a mechanical engineer by qualification, and been working as a consultant dealing with energy efficient buildings, emissions tracking, sustainability, etc. 

There are quite a number of low hanging AI opportunities in these scopes alone, that might resonate well with other niches as well. I am still early in the learning curve, but thanks to Gemini and my newfound "coding skills", I am experimenting with some interesting solutions. Stay tuned!
